The Blonde book has 159 pages, and only 11 patterns with prickings (for
someone like Tamara who needs to move her bobbins in tandem with devouring a book).
<g> A shot of vodka needs a "zakuska" (a morsel of food) to follow it; there has to be a balance between the liquid and the solid, the ephemeral and the lasting, the art and the artifact, the thought and the product, the superstructure and the base (to use the old Marxist terminology; always knew it would come in handy one day <g>)...
Usually, people specialise -- you do this, and I'll stick to that -- and things are balanced. But I'm a Libra, so I limp on *both* legs; a Jill of both aspects and the mistress of none... :)

I've not tried any samples, either (for many reasons; "minding my own business" being one of them, as in your case) But I have been enormously cheered to see that I was on my way to re-invent yet another wheel... :)
I had been experimenting with a differently-coloured weaver in hst toiles even before I laid my eyes on the book (and, afterwards, I *had to have* the book <g>) What I've learnt from the book was that I needed to make the weaver *thicker* than the "base" thread to get a better effect.
I've not yet tried plying different shades to form a single weaver; so far, I've been very happy using a *variegated* weaver instead (as long as the changes are frequent, and the toile big enough to show them off). In principle, I still *am* happy with that solution, though have problems finding enough variegated threads in pleasing/suitable colours/thicknesses. Theoretically, the next step would be to ply variegated threads, or a variegated with solids... :)
So I'm looking forward to the class very much; I want to "suck in" any and all *general* info on making Blonde of any description - I have looked over the books, but never set a stitch, and this will be an excellent chance. I want to find out the "how" (picots, footside and toile to ground connections, gimp treatment). I also want to find out the the "why" (thread proportions of base-to-weaver-to-gimp and what happens when they change), *specific* to Polychrome.
As for reporting... Try and stop me <g>
