<< I sent a message to the list the following day of her death but I think no
one noticed because everyone was so busy with Ms Channer's mat and
 copyright.
This lack of reaction was very disappointing because she was really a
remarkable person in the world of lacemaking.

Dear Liduina,

It is always sad when we lose a wonderful lacemaker and leader. Probably few
of the people who are active participants on Arachne knew Ghyslaine Maes, and
there have been no details or reviews of her contributions to lace - which
would have drawn comments. She came to the position of President of OIDFA
fairly recently, and no one was prepared to hear of her sudden death.

Please don't be too disappointed by the lack of response to your announcement
on Arachne. There may be comments when the magnitude of loss is realized.
Perhaps there are members of Arachne with memories to share, as they did upon
the passing of Doreen Wright....

Please let us know if a special tribute to Ghyslaine Maes is put on OIDFA's
Website.

(It is worth noting that I just looked at the OIDFA Website, and it is still
possible to click on Ghyslaine's name and send OIDFA business mail to her.
This could be quite upsetting to her family. It would be compassionate if the
Webmaster made an adjustment.)

Kind personal regards and sympathy to Ghyslaine's many lace friends,

Jeri Ames in Maine USA
