I just thought I would tell you all about Michelle being now home for a little while in Aussie land. First of all thankyou to all for the help with my thread question for needle tatting. I ended up using a 12 perle to make a horseshoe for Michelle for her wedding. I could not say to much as you can guess it is so hard to keep quite about things. Anyway I gave Michelle her horseshoe when she picked me up to go to our lace group class which we call B&B (Beds and Bucks). This month it was held at Margaret Abbey's home. Margaret very kindly sent us written instructions on how to get to her home, but unfortunatly I got a bit muddled with the instructions towards the end and started to panic that I had missed a turn, but luckly Michelle was a very calm driver and does not panic. When we arrived Margaret Turner, Pam Lloyd (who are arachne members) plus 4 others where already there. We took out pillows and Michelle had a cross stitch with her. It was so great to have her with us and catch up on all her news. Just before lunch we gave her a small table cloth, that the group had made. It was made from the Cleveland Pattern, which is based on squares. We where all given some squares to make and in the middle was a piece of linen which one of our members embroidered and Pam Lloyd made all the lace edging, which was quite an accomplishment. Pam also joined it all together and all this had to be done before August as Pam was going away the West. One of the girls covered a box that the table cloth was put into, with pearls and lace and looked absolutly fantastic. I have forgotten to mention the squares and the edging was made with linen thread which Pam arranged to be supplied and in January we where all sitting at the Victorian Guild Meeting winding our thread on a 40 degree Celsius day heat and we had to get the bobbins wound so the thread could be then passed on to others. Pam's organisational skills came to the fore even her bullying to make sure we all finished on time and where able to get the squares together at one time. On one of our lace lesson days Glenda and I put the squares together and did some stitching so Glenda could then go ahead and embroider the centre. It has been a great experience to be able to do such a project. I would recommend such a group project to any of you. We have all had to be very quite when emailing Michelle not to let on to her and it was worth it. Linda McCrae Frankston Victoria
