I feel the one person who will know what thread was used for Queen Victoria's wedding lace would be Santina Levey. The reason I say this is when I took a group of lace makers to Windsor Castle to see the Queen's fans not that long ago I was told by the curator that Santina Levey was at the time cataloguing the Queen's lace collection. The one person who would be able to confirm what threads were used would be Santina.
I was also told by an authority at the Museum of London that after the successful exhibition of the Victoria's & her cousin Princess Charlotte's clothes that the Queen asked for all the royal clothes that had been in the care of The Museum of London to be returned to the Royal Family and put in their collection. I believe these had been loaned by Queen Mary. It would also be interesting to know what has happened to the lace that Queen Mary had, has this lace been put in the Royal Collection? I know that at Kensington Palace they have mostly costumes on display. Would it not be nice for the Queens lace collection to be put on display, perhaps even at Buckingham Palace.
