Sorry, but I am slow on the uptake!!! :) Please may I have the link. I
searched for "Uni. Of Arizona" on Yahoo, and got 15 pages of links, but
could not find anything that looked remotely like lace!

Try http://www.cs.arizona.edu/patterns/weaving/lace.html#books

For anyone who has missed this topic so far:

Tess and The Professor are gathering up pre-1923 (copyright-free) books on lace (among other topics), scanning them, and putting them into Adobe PDF files so that anyone with the Adobe Reader (free to download from http://www.adobe.com ) can either download them off the website or purchase a CD of the books.

The downloads you can do any time, but they're a pain for anyone without a highspeed connection, or who must pay long-distance charges, etc. Therefore they have also put out 1 CD with most of the books on it, and when they have enough files to do a second CD they will publish that.

A wonderful public service to us all!
