I don't know about silk brand cake flour, but I can say that US cake flour is 
much finer than the regular flour sold in UK packets. It has the consistency 
of corn starch.  Crisco is a vegetable shortening (fat)  used in place of 
butter to make cakes and cookies.  It has a higher melting point than butter.
� US cup measure is 8 fluid ounces. 4 cups makes a quart.  My international 
cook book indicates that a liter equals 1.05 quarts
