I wanted to report on the Liberty Lacers Lace Exhibit, which opened Sunday 10/5/03 at the Plastic Club in Philadelphia. The exhibit is displayed through out the first and the second floors of a center city art center and includes not only lace but pillows and bobbins as well. On display are over 120 pieces of lace with a depth and breath that is truly inspiring to anyone and especially lacemakers. The turn out for the opening was very good and it appeared that the exhibit was very well received. But what was especially nice was that it was treated and viewed as an art form and not as a hobby or craft. Betty MacDonald is to be commended for doing such a great job on pulling it all together and the Queen Ann's lace was an inspired touch, thanks Betty and Nikki. I would strongly suggest that you come and see the exhibit, you will find it quite enjoyable if not inspirational.
