Hello Helene,
may be I did'nt say so clearly: I run a shop in a beautiful castle where
I sell lace and equipment. We offer these special german roller pillows
and hooded bobbins and also some sorts of block pillows, filled with
felt and continental (flemish, danish and swiss) bobbins.
In our castle we organize exhibitions, especially a competition for
children. We are just now receiving the first pieces for our next
exhibition. This years theme was: *my song*. Children had to think about
a song, a verse or a phrase of a song and try to make a picture that
they could work in lace. We wonder what kind of songs they will choose.
There are three groups from 7 to 18 years. I heared from a group of
children who came up with an english song. They had to translate it for
their lace-teacher, because older people here did not learn english.
I attend fairs in Germany and other countries and in between I try to
design new lace. In all that is what I am doing.
I started as a historian, but because my husband is a historian too, we
could not find jobs in the same town, so I made my hobby my job.
Greetingsfrom Chemnitz,
Gabriele
