Dear Sue,
I can understand very well the problem!
I have the same problem with Elisa Ricci collection and many other
collections.
But we all speak and we all are so interested in lace. Hope that if we can
speak we can find.
A little help (if we find Mr. Pollen then we can find Mrs Pollen): I use
this wonderful web-site:
http://www.biblio.tu-bs.de/acwww25u/wbi_en
Open and, on the left, in the first line you write (the comma is important!)

Pollen,

next page, and you find:
pollen, john hungerford / designer/630 decorator/170 writer/561
mark the entry then show marked entry

Name: Pollen, John Hungerford
         Dates: 1820-1902
   Occupations: designer/630; decorator/170; writer/561
       Archive: British Biographical Archive
         Fiche: I 885,115-118; II 1711,390-391
In a web-site of a bookseller I read that the name of Mrs. Pollen was Maria
Margaret and with an other search on www.biblio.tu ecc. ecc (Pollen, Maria) I
found:
Name: La Primaudaye, Maria Margaret
                aft. Pollen
         Dates: -
     mentioned: 1900

    References: Pollen, Maria Margaret
   Occupations: writer on lace/575
       Archive: British Biographical Archive
         Fiche: I 1232,355
Two years ago when I began to search about Elisa Ricci, I knew the web-site
but I had a similar reply:
Name: Ricci, Elisa
         Dates: -
     mentioned: 1908-1936
   Occupations: pubblicista/585; scrittrice/561
       Archive: Archivio Biografico Italiano
         Fiche: II 503,294; II S 71,6

Is it a sign? One of us must begin to study about Mrs. Pollen!
Lifes with lace.

Bianca
