Sherry - and others ! This IS a hoax!! There have been a rash of emails lately that look to be from PayPal, eBay, Amazon, etc. But all of these services have confirmed that they are fake. One thing to do is hit the "reply" button (you don't actually have to send the email...) and look at the "To" line... In all probability, it is not an address that will connect you to the service in question.
If your ISP has a spam service, then forward this email to them. If you're uncertain what needs to be done regarding your account with the particular service, then go to their legitimate website (NOT by clicking on any links in the email you received) and go to customer service. Chances are you will find a notice there about the fake emails.
