I believe you've hit the nail on the head; *all* the patterns with half-pairs have Venetian Cord in them; the one which does't has straight 20 pairs... The four-fold #8 (1 pair) are the thick side bars of it...


Oh duh; why didn't I think of it? <g> Thanks Brenda; even though I have no plans for making any patterns out of the book, I do like to have that little mystery cleared up.
