I'll be seeing Pam next spring when I am in London and will be glad to ask
her about corners. It would help if someone (Tamara?) would put the relevant
postings together for me and send them as an attachment.
Sorry, I can't do it; I do not store past messages -- not my own, and very few of other people's -- more than a couple of days. They could be retrieved from the Archives, I think, if you really wanted to. I think the "thread" started with someone asking about the corner for the Waterlily pattern.

I don't think that the fact that the old pattern books
havem't any corners necessarily indicates that corners weren't being made. The Lace
Museum has a fantastic collection of old handkerchiefs and I 'm pretty sure
that there are some with Point Ground borders.
"Old" is an imprecise term. Mid-late 19th c and early 20th is "old" -- 100 yrs or more -- and corners were made then in PG and in everything else. But the height of PG (pattern complexity and use in fashion) was *18*th c -- a 100-150 years *before that*, and I don't think there was much "cornered" lace made then. I'm not even sure when handkerchiefs became a part of one's wardrobe...
