Hi Jane -

You might want to try one of the beading supply stores.
They're in every large town, and many carry wonderful
findings for jewelry that are over and above the brass you
mention.  I've seen gold plated and 14K findings.  They're
obviously more expensive, but they won't discolor and ruin
your lace!  And of course, the huge beading purveyors have
websites where you can see and order online!!
