I have the complete set of these. I had a minor skirmish with Ms Jurado because I had years 2, 3 and 4 on subscription (and with the international top-up it was not cheap) and had sent my money for year 5. When the next issue came it was not a lace crafts quarterly at all but a set of Battenburg lace reproduction books.
As Battenburg is not my first love, and I also have a quantity of original magazines, I was not impressed and wrote and told her so. I felt that she was being slightly dishonest and should have asked me if I wanted these or my subscription returned, particularly considering the 'moral' tone of the magazine (which included Bible texts and blessings, not the sort of thing I have seen in any other craft magazine). In year 2 we had been told the circulation had jumped to 25,000 copies, but no hint later that there were problems. Anyway, after a small amount of bargaining I was told she would send me any back- numbers I wanted. I replied that I had them all except the first year which I had been told were not available when I had tried to buy them, but lo and behold, they duly arrived, giving me the full set. Only last week I had them all out to read the articles on *hand-made* machine embroidered lace - there are some excellent instructions for home-made, machine embroidered copies of various needle laces such as Carickmacross and Battenburg.
