For those who want to know more about the doily art of Kiki Smith, go to www.MOMA.org. Click on the Kiki Smith exhibit. Then click on the part of this web presentation that deals with "anatomy" and proceed through it. ( I didn't mention that Kiki Smith relates doilies to female anatomical parts in my posting.) The two works they show are Grace and Flesh, however there were another 3 on exhibit and some accompanying materials say she had done some bronzes along the same line. Should we deluge the museum with irate e-mails demanding to know whether "no doilies were hurt" in making this art? Actually, the doilies are pretty rudimentary and ones I would willingly deface in the name of art. I wonder if Louise Nevelson had some better ones that Kiki didn't want to damage. Devon
