I thought I'd just remind everyone making travel plans for the summer that some of the Lace Guild collection is on display at Gunnersbury Park Museum until 26th September. There is a programme of talks and workshops associated with the exhibition - see the Lace Guild web site ( http://www.laceguild.org ) for more details. Gunnersbury Park Museum is in west London and you'll also find a pop-up map of how to get there (the nearest tube station is Acton Town and you can then walk or take a bus).

Entry to the museum is free and opening times are Apr to Oct, Mon to Fri 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm; Sat & Sun 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm; Nov to Mar 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm

I was there when the exhibition opened at the beginning of the month. It looked very nice - not too large but plenty of variety and information. Best of all some of the lace is displayed on costume from the museum so you can see how it would have been worn.

There are 4 postcards (25p each) - 17th C Italian bobbin lace copying reticella, some lovely detail from a distressed piece of Venetian Gros Point, detail from a Point de Gaze collar, and a Youghal needlelace collar from about 1900.

Jean in Glasgow looking forward to ski-ing in Colorado next week!
