This morning I made one of my infrequent to the neighbouring, larger town. As usual I visited a bookshop selling mostly remaindered books as well as full price titles to see if there happened to be any reduced lace books. I have previously found the occasional title and always looked hopefully. This morning I hit jackpot with four bobbin lace titles - and one needlelace.
I got Judyth L Gwynne "The illustrated dictionary of lace" for 9.99 instead of 25.00GBP and Edna Sutton "Bruges flower lace" for 4.99 instead of 12.99GBP, both Batsford. There were also Bridget Cook's "Torchon workbook"; I should have this book but when i went to check the exact title it isn't with my lace books on the bookshelves and so I am left wondering what has happened to it. The last bobbin title was Gilliam Dye "Introduction to Torchon lace" - again the title may not be exact but it is a beginner's book. I can't remember the title of the needlelace book, I'm afraid. So I have been gloating ever since I returned home.
