Just have to pass on a true story..... I visited a Danish lady who
lives hereabout, who made nothing but Tonder Lace. She is a
"play it strickly by the rules, everything must be perfect" sort,
and her finished lace was amazing. (Incidently her husband made
breathtaking lace also). Anyway, I looked at a handkerchief edging
on her pillow. She was using 300 linen and the whole piece looked
like it was growing hairs..... I mean zillions of ends sticking up.
Come to find out, it wasn't broken threads- every time she came
to a tiny "slub" in the linen, she'd cut the thread and start a new
one so that there weren't any irregularities in the finished piece!
