I used to take my knitting to church meetings, and eventually the minister told me that I never had to speak at the meetings, - he knew how I felt about an issue by watching my knitting. If I agreed with what was being said, I knitted calmly and fluently. However, if I disagreed, I knitted more violently and quicker, and he could judge my degree of opposition by just how violent and quick I moved the needles!!
