Hi All, This book is out of print but I got it from a used book seller. Also you can get it through Interlibrary Loan or IOLI or Guild. The book is "Needlelace in Photographs" by Cynthia Voysey, published by Batsford and mine has two ISBNs so here they are: 0-7134-5331-1 or 0-7134-5560-8 (cased). It was published in 1987.
Anyway, it is fabulous!! I am fascinated to see the stitches in all these pieces. There is a photo of the whole piece and then one or more close-ups in different magnifications. There's a German or Viennese edging 5cm wide (1") and I can't imagine how they did the detail that is shown in the close-ups. She has most (all?) of the classic Needle laces and also includes Mediterranean knotted, Irish Crochet, macrame, Branscombe point, Carrickmacross and many others. One of the CMX handkerchiefs is spectacular and a Point de Gaze handkerchief takes my breath away! Also beautiful photos of Argentella with close-ups of all the stitch activity! A totally fascinating book as far as I'm concerend! Jane in Vermont, USA who has to go start the laundry but I'll have thoughts of needles stitching away in my head <G>.
