Following this thread, just yesterday I found on the newspaper a picture of a judge receiving congratulations and an excellent detail of his arm revealed a torchon lace cuff sewed to the border of his "judge suit" (I do not know the proper name in English); and I wander if this tradition that here in Spain has survived until nowadays, is also common in other parts of the world.
If you are interested in see the picture, I shall post it on my page, as it is so clear that I think it will resist a scanning.
