Today's "Blue Peter" programme was set in Malta and I watched in the not too strong hope of seeing lacemaking mentioned. One up for Blue Peter. Konnie Huq went to Gozo, to the Arts Centre there, and was shown the rudiments of lacemaking. She was shown how to do cloth stitch and had a go, working on a pattern of a Maltese Cross. At the end she said she thought she was mastering what she had been taught but knew there was a lot more to learn.
