Sorry to post so many admin messages in such a short space of time but I recommend that the discussion of plagiarism be taken off-line. Trying to argue on a list about whether someone did or didn't plagiarize is a lot like trying to convert someone to your political or religious views. It consumes a lot of time, energy, and bandwidth, raises tempers and, at the end of the day, we're no further ahead than we were when we started and we've possibly damaged the reputation of someone who didn't deserve it. Better to use the energy for vacuuming the livingroom or making lace. If you really want to continue the discussion, please do it via private e-mail. Words can hurt. Imagine how you'd feel if you unsubbed from the list to take a vacation and came back to find a lively discussion about your alleged wrongdoing in the archives.
