"The standard of work of all the entries was excellent and it was very difficult to decide which ones not to display in Coventry. In the end it was based on what went together so colour and size did have a bearing. The decisions were made by Pat Phillpot who staged the exhibition, assisted by Jackie Roger (an Executive committee member who has professional experience in this area) and the museum staff. Work has not been rejected, but because the gallery, though large wasn't big enough, some of the entries have to be displayed elsewhere. The exhibition at The Hollies, the Lace Guild headquarters in Stourbridge, will be open from mid-July for two months and will be advertised in the next issue of 'Lace' which is due out at the end of July."
David and I have already advertised the 'overflow' exhibition at The Hollies on the Lace Guild website. If you can get to Coventry, Stourbridge isn't that much further (might even be closer depending on the direction you're coming from) and I can provide travel directions if necessary.
Jean in Glasgow but preparing to drive south tomorrow - we may even make it to Coventry!
