No, Avital - that word appeared early on in the process on their sign-up
page.  But the code I got later WAS a "verification code" (and it was a six
or seven digit number) which was sent to me in email, along with a link to
which I was to go to complete the sign-up process by entering my password
and the verification code.  It didn't work the first few times I tried it. 
A day or two later I tried again, and it worked.  

BUT - now when I try to log in, I am told that I am not a member of any
Yahoo groups.  Yahell... don't know if it's worth it!!
