I've had a bit of a search, but I can't find a poem for a handkerchief for a bride, only for a christening.
Jeanne, when you posted last time, someone challenged me to make one up, so this time I've had a go. I used the poem Jacquie just posted as a starting point. A dainty edge of snow white lace A square of linen fine It's made just for your wedding day With hopes the sun will shine. And after celebrations Fold and store away And it becomes a bonnet For an infant's christening day. Just fold a deep hem over And gather on the fold Some ribbons on the corner Then its history can be told. For it was carried on the day When bub's mum became a wife And it carried all the maker's hopes For a happy wedded life Then perhaps in many years to come It can be used anew To grace another wedding day In the hope the sky is blue!
