Hello Aracne's,

So sorry to take so long to post my Thank You's to everyone who responded
regarding my hanky questions. I had to work an extra 11 1/2 hours Thurs.
night. I just finally got caught up on my sleep.

Thanks to Noelene for posting that message from Lace Chat where I had
mistakenly posted thinking I was posting to Aracne. I think I emailed
everyone who responded off-list, but Thank You all again and to anyone I may
have missed.

I have compiled a document with all the responses. Very helpful info! If
anyone wants a copy, email me off list and I'd be happy to send the document
to you.

I'm working on a straight lace that would look so pretty on a hanky, so I'm
going to try out one of the techniques. My friend was happy to know that she
could still use here pre-made handkerchiefs. She's a seamstress, so she's
opted to make the lace smaller than the hanky, then cut it down to size.

Tamara mentioned a thesis about American lacemaking. Funny, I was just this
morning wondering when bobbin lace made it to America. I've found and
acquired a few pieces of bobbin lace at antique sales and that had me
wondering if it came to America from Europe already made, or was it made
after the lady emigrated to America, or maybe an American brought it home
after travelling to Europe.

Well, if I'm going to get any lacemaking done today, I'd better be off.

Mary
