Hi, Karisse, I've never had anything to do with lace iron-on patterns, but I remember embroidery patterns that appeared in French magazines in the "olden days". My mother and several aunts used them, and I can tell you they disappear after a while if you take too long finishing your embroidery, and they also disappear when you wash the finished product. So I would guess that an iron-on lace pricking wouldn't last very long when you use it, unless you cover it up with contact plastic. Of course, in the case of the prickings, you have to prick the pattern anyway, so you wouldn't lose the holes, but the dye might stain your thread. I've still got some of my great-aunt's embroidery magazines from the 1910's and 1920's. Mum saved them for me when they cleaned up my aunt's house after she died, and I posted them to Australia where I am hugging them! Yours in lace, Helene, the froggy from Melbourne, who remembered fond memories when reading about iron-on patterns. Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo!
