is supposed to be a lacemaker's lamp. Don't know if it is or not - not like any I've seen in books. I think the reason the seller in the UK is quoting in US dollars is that 'kerosene' isn't in common use in the UK - we'd use 'paraffin' instead, so presumably it was made in the US. Wouldn't have thought this would have been an ideal fuel for lacemaking because it can make things in the same room smell. Was lace washed before it was sold?
