There are a number of sources for a block pillow that vary in price. Snowgoose has the "One and Only" that has two 5" blocks in the center of an ethafoam cookie pillow. This has the ability to receive a roller as well in place of the block. A lot of other suppliers also carry this in their inventory. Snowgoose also has a "9 block" pillow which is their 5" blocks of ethafoam set in three rows on a hardboard sheet and has a small plastic edge around it to contain them. But it only measures 15" across.
I make the same item but in a 5-1/2" version that gives you 16-1/2" square. I also make a wooden version with 3/8" wood base and sides. While it may look a bit nicer then the plastic it still does the same thing in the same size. And of course, costs (and weighs) a bit more. Both the "One and Only" amd the "9 block" pillows still must be covered with material. Most of the other suppliers also carry a version from the Continent that is already covered, but is also more expensive because of that. But I would suggest checking both Snowgoose at http://www.snowgoose.cc/ or my page at http://www.bobbinmaker.com/pillowparts.html. Also check the pages of http://www.vansciverbobbinlace.com/, http://www.lacysusan.com/ or http://www.lacemakerusa.com/ and see what you may like. Currently I do not have any in inventory, having sold them all at the IOLI convention in Harrisburg PA this week. But will be making more next week when I return from a short stay in London. ********************************** Bobbins by Van-Dieren Kenn Van-Dieren 2304 Clifford Avenue Rochester, NY 14609 Tel: 585.654.5711 Cell: 585.750.8842 E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web Site: www.bobbinmaker.com ***************************************** ----- Original Message ----- From: "Weronika Patena" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, August 08, 2004 1:30 PM Subject: [lace] where to get block pillows? > Hello! > > Yet another question.
