I have the Springett video on Carrickmacross with Carol Williamson. She uses polyester net with cotton organdie. She says that once the sewing is completed, remove the net and organdie from the backing tissue and butter paper (or baking parchment), wash it in mild washing powder/liquid without squeezing, rinse without squeezing, because no amount of ironing will flatten organdie once it has been crushed. She then irons it dry face down with a cloth covering the polyester netting so that the heat of the iron doesn't melt it. Then the unneeded organdie is cut away.
