I have heard that there was a tablecloth in Venice on display that supposedly took ten women ten years to make. I have also heard this figure in reference to another piece owned by a friend. It seems to be a favorite time measurement in the lace world. Shall we all keep our eyes peeled for other sightings of this metaphor? Devon
