I shoud also mention that I got a lot out of doing the assessments. I now understand a lot more about the processes involved, and If I hit a problem can usually apply what I've learnt to solve it. I've also learn that there are often more than just one way of doing things, as with zig-zag trails.
If you'd mentioned the word 'design' to me a couple of years ago I'd have gone "all of a fluster" and been able to do nothing. Now I can tackle design more comfortably by looking for inspiration around me - the second completed piece for the intermediate assessment was inspired by the embossed pattern on the sheets of a Bounty kitchen roll! And, no, the finished piece doesn't look anything like a Bounty kitchen roll.
