I have been of the list for a bit, and have just been reading Grethes answer about copyright.
I have to make comment on this. Well if it look like the original it is a copy, but how can you today make a torchon pattern that do not resampel somebody else's, for example we were 4 that used the same stiches, roseground, the same scallop, the same clothwork, but put together, they look alike, but were not the same, 4 different patterns, Reconstrucktion, well, we had some photocopies from Tonder museum, wich we could redraw, if it's not to look alike, I would say it is not a reconstrucktion, and when you have made such a pattern offcourse you have to mention where it is from, and I wrote also "it is yours to sell, the prickings and the workdiagram", but offcourse you cann't call it your design. If you cannnot reconstruck an old pattern so it is the same, how can we then lace all thiese old patterns, you mentioned Nyrup Larsen, all thise patterns are old tonder patterns, "Marens haegte" name off a blonde, would not be this pattern if you didn't reconstruck it exactly.
