Gentle Spiders,
I have been gifted with a "thread holder" (a "thingie" - for lack of a technical term <g> - which will hold a spool of thread *horizontally*, while you're winding your bobbins), made by her DH, by Marie Parry in OZ (what *is it* about Australians? They seem to be more ingenious than the rest of the world <g>).
As is usual with me, I couldn't leave a good thing alone, and started fiddling around with improving it (maybe). By the time I was done, I came up with something that was *so much* "up John Beswick's alley" (he, of the pocket bobbin winder, which takes apart and packs down to a 2x2x4.5", in its own bag, *even with an extra attachment* for Continental bobbins; a marvel of ingenuity <g>), that I can't believe he hadn't thought of it *years ago*, his engineering mind being far trickier than mine...
I thought to check with him first, but I don't have either the URL (if they have a website) to see, or the e-address (to ask)... The Google search (admittedly, inept, given my 'puter skills. Or lack thereof <g>) came up with several "hits", but always on someone else's webpage, with no direct connection that I could discern...
Is there anyone here who could help me make contact with John? Famous as I may be for re-inventing the wheel, it's not a passtime I'm particularly fond of... Especially *not now*, when I'm trying to concentrate on developing a pattern which I wasn't even supposed to be developing (but which seems to be progressing better than the one before it - the one which had me totally stumped <g>)
Please respond privately, so as not to clutter the list un-necessarily; thanks.
