Dear Antje and Others,

Halas lace is made with a needle!  It has an unusual needlelace 
characteristic:  There is needle-woven cloth within the lace.  A filling that 
resembles 
cloth does not appear in other needlelaces.  This cloth, plus the three crossed 
fish that are the trademark of the lace having been made in Kiskunhalas, are 
what makes this lace easy to identify.  The three crossed fish are incorporated 
into the lace.  They do not "jump out at you" and interfere with the design.

If I remember correctly, there is a picture of a piece of Halas lace on the 
Lacefairy web page.  Probably a butterfly.
