Hi All, and Sylvia in particular, I *loved* the signature! I have spent the weekend hustling about, rushing round, and on Saturday spent the day making lace in my parents church in Sheringham, in Norfolk in the UK. It was a Celebration of Crafts Day, and there was so much wonderful stuff on display - woodwork, decoupage, paintings, model-making, pastel drawings, quilting, lace, and single thread embroidery - and we had a marvellous day! The church was so colourful as people came in, with quilts draped all over the pews, paintings, cross stitch, and models propped up on table tops balanced over the pews, and Mum's thread paintings in a well-lit and much-admired spot! (She takes photographs, then hand-embroiders the scene, using single threads of six-stranded embroidery silk - absolutely lovely, but far more time-consuming than even lace-making, I think!)
We finished the weekend with a service in Church this morning, and I couldn't agree more that lace-making is a talent on loan from God, along with all the other talents displayed - and even those not represented this weekend - in Church!
