Well, what a fun day :) Bev and I have been swapping scans of my old
pricking and puzzling over the results all day:) The pricking was so fine
that the holes just made it look fur. First off I had to steam the
parchment (BTW it is parchment, not velum) to straighten it out. I then
painstakingly used a very fine pin and pricked through about an inch of the
original through carbon paper. I scanned the results, blew it up, and drew
what I felt might be trails (no ink markings to guide). Turns out it is a
piece of torchon! The pricking is inch wide and the footside holes are
1mm apart. Who on earth would do such a fine piece of work...in torchon?
We're still puzzling about the fan..or is it a fan? :) Sharon on dull
