Towards the end of the summer, our local chain stores and supermarkets were selling dense polystyrene bodyboards/boogie boards - short surf boards about 3 ft long - which had a large flat area in the middle very cheaply to clear the shelves ready for the Christmas stock. I thought they would make lace pillows if cut down a bit.
