I have two of these pincushions...one that I made with a kit that the Springetts used to sell, and one that I purchased ready made. Both are made with velvet, heart shaped and lace trimmed. I�ve never noticed the emory powder falling out of them, and they are many years old !! The nap (?) on the velvet is very short. I am teaching my niece to make lace and have given her one of them for her lace pillow, so it has a lot of lacing still ahead of it. Debbie in Florida
