Pat Hallam (of Roseground) is mentioned, and she does know something about lacemaking in UK - old and new. If she'd actually seen the pillow (not just the photo of it), I'd take her word for its age/value.
NB, I was amused by the very skillful wording in the listing, which increases potential value by insinuation... :) The item is advertised as being an 1850's pillow. The description itself claims only "late 1800's". But, to offset that (perish the thought it might be as late as 1899 <g>), the "unused room in a 17th century house" is mentioned in the very next sentence. To make you think, perhaps, that you might be getting a pillow on which Charles I's lace was made??? Because, otherwise, that bit of information is totally irrelevant... :)
