2nd question - is it ok on a small ornament pricking that is tape lace to
push your pins all the way down ? I think the answer is yes because people
use cover cloths and clear material to cover their work.
Unless you're making edgings, you almost always have to push your pins down because they get in the way.
3rd question - is there a technique for adding beads to a spot on an
ornament if I forgot to add them as I was going along? I can't really back
track since there is a sewing between where I am now and the part where I'd
like to locate a bead.
You can undo a sewing. Just 'pick' at the sewing with a pin, until you find the loop that you originally made and reverse the sewing steps. I've never added a bead later, but I don't see why you can't sew one on (with a needle and thread), knot the threads on the back of the lace, and cut off or weave the ends into the lace.
