This got me delving into my bookshelf again - I have a wonderful Japanese
tatting book, ISBN4-529-02533-0, just called Tatting Lace - it has a
shawn draped around a dressmakers dummy on the cover. It is full
of useful patterns, including a couple of collars, a couple of shawls,
edges, doilies, necklaces with beads, even a set of curtains! Again,
like Anneke's book, all in Japanese, but the diagrams are so clear
you don't need translation.

Inside the back cover are pictures of the covers of 5 books all
on lace - one "Irish crochet lace", another "Knitted lace", another
"Battenberg lace" and two "Tatting lace" (including the book I have).

I remember about 10 years ago going to a lot of trouble to write to
the publishers in Japan and buy about 25 copies of the tatting book
for friends in Sydney - they were all snaffled up immediately. Can't
even remember the name of the publisher now. Someone in our
group had a catalog of all their craft books. I don't really wish I
could get my hands on the catalog again - I couldn't afford to buy all the
books I would want!
