Dear Tamara and all starching-interesting lacefriends, Sorry but don't use this products:
(flour, sugar, etc) media,for starching. Otherwise it could be that your lace is interesting for insect and they lay perhaps their eggs into it. And when the new generation comes out your lace has a new design.
And, anyway, starching metallics (or silk) seems a bit "cockamamie" to me...To me too, I agree totaly.
Starching isn't necessare for doilies and laces on fibre but if you make lace pieces to wear or little christmas or easter hangers than you must starch them. First to provide them from dust and second that they "stand in attention" as Tamara says, still some time later.
I wanted starche my lace leaves but I recognized that they need starching and back at home I did so.
