If you are using 'Safari' (the Mac browser) you'll find the 'TinyURL.com is Better' icon at the top left, next to the bookmark icon.

When you want to forward a long URL (web address) which is likely to break mid-string, Control C to copy it, as usual, then exit or minimise the website. Bring up the TinyURL website from your Bookmarks/Favourites. In the slot provided for conversion, Control V, to paste in the long string, click on "Make tinyURL!". Wait till Tiny has done its job (it will brag a bit about how well it's done <g>) and shows you the new version. Control C to copy this *new* address. Control V, to paste it into your message...

I'll try to remember to do it next time I post a long URL !
