I just checked the web and Thumbelina still carries Danish flower thread. This is a store in Solvang, California, originally settled by Danes and a tourist spot. The URL is

http://www.thumbelina.com/index.html

Note that the Danish Handcraft Guild (real) Danish flower thread has a different numbering system from the DMC flower thread. Thumbelina has a color card available for USD 10.

The DMC Flower thread - 'Fil Fleur' - was discontinued several years ago. The Danish Handcraft Guild's flower thread - 'Originalt Dansk Blomstergarn' is still available. I haven't seen a size on either thread, but the Originalt Dansk Blomstergarn is a little thicker at 20 wraps/cm than the DMC version at 23 wraps/cm was.

If you can't get flower thread substitutes would be Anchor Pearl 12 or DMC perle 12 (both 21 wraps/cm) although pearl cottons are mercerised and so shinier than flower thread.
