And the Deutsche Kloeppelverband Kongress in Weingarten is even closer, starting on 1st April. I'm not taking any of the pre-Kongress classes, nor am I staying on afterwards for a class this year. Instead I have planned my trip to Germany to take in the 11th International Biennale of Lace under the auspices of Queen Fabiola of Belgium at the Max Berk museum in Heidelberg. I've been to two previous Biennale exhibitions and they were breathtaking. Participation is (I think) by invitation only. The pieces are lace as high art, with the word 'Lace' being very liberally interpreted, paying no attention to the construction method, just the result. None of this is anything I would attempt to do myself, but it is awe inspiring. The exhibition continues until 15 May. It is about 1 hour by train from Frankfurt. -- For NASA, space is still a high priority.
