The mid-week free day is also the best day to shop. The sales room is closed during classes and all official convention events, so it's pretty hard to seriously look at threads or books in the brief bits before class, during lunch, etc. Wednesday is the day to leisurely browse.
It's also a day to catch up with the classwork, for those of us who are slow making lace, and to socialize. Some conventions (and Denver's supposed to have this) have nice, well-lit lobbies where you can bring your pillow and work on your lace, or visit others who are working on theirs. And as Deborah said, it's a chance to get a little sleep and get re-charged for the next couple of intense class days. Robin P.
