Very common way to move groups of people about at weddings and other events here. There probably wasn't any car parking nearby for several reasons including that of security, it makes sure they all arrive at the right place at the right time, it's cheap, social and low on pollution. Currently our political leaders are taking their "battle buses" round the country campaigning for the next three weeks before our general election. It's the most practical way to move their whole team with them.
