Carol I had great rtrouble with threads breaking while using a pale green Cotona Madiera 30. Since then I have used Christmas red (once) and regal purple (twice) without any problems. So I assumed there is something in pastel colours' dye which damages the thread - and it isn't present in deep colours. this may apply to finca, too.
